We've built over 200 homes with a pipeline far in excess of this. We are also a manufacturer; operating in a 125,000 sq ft factory in Derbyshire and have well advanced plans to build another one 5 times bigger. 

We have an exciting opportunity for an Aftercare Engineer (Multi-trade Engineer) to work as part of our aftercare department on a full time, permanent basis. The main purpose of this role will be to maintain repairs and upgrades to defects to our TopHat homes in a timely and professional manner in accordance with schedules and standards as directed by TopHat and the immediate Aftercare Team.

Key Responsibilities:

• To fully diagnose any defect problems within the appropriate trade area and raise any potential trends/ issues for review.
• Delivery of reactive multi-trade works orders in line with trade qualification and experience as evaluated.
• To work in accordance with industry compliance.
• To complete works in a timely manner and to ensure quality of work is of a good standard.
• Ensure works and tasks are completed to a very high standard and conform to industry legislation.
• Delivering a first-class service to customers and clients.
• Ensure a good working relationship with Contractors and Sub-contractors is maintained on site.
• To respond effectively to all defect’s tasks scheduled by the Aftercare Co-ordinator/Aftercare Manager.
• Ensure defects are logged and reported back via the communication channels provided.
• Perform duties in accordance with Departmental Health & Safety Policies & Procedures.
• Liaise and arrange sub-contractor support and effectively co-ordinate their attendance to ensure defects are maintained and repaired.
• Be responsible for parts ordering and security of stock / ensure all materials used are logged in accordance with financial policies.
• Manage, rectify, and update defects tasks through the Aftercare Co-ordinator to ensure that SLAs are met.
• To manage defects to completion including breakdowns, investigations, sourcing of materials and parts, provision of quotes and to arrange the repair.

Do you fit the bill? 

• Trade experience and relevant experience of construction / repairs / maintenance
• Good practical skills with a knowledge of a range of different skills sets with a good attitude.
• Well organised with the ability to work to tight timescales and demonstrate attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively deal with a wide range of customers, contractors and other members of staff.
• Ability to work within a team and as an effective member of staff.
• An understanding of the need to deal with customers sensitively and to keep information confidential.
• Ability to take on individual project work and demonstrate initiative.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Carry out any other duties that may from time to time be required and may include support to other departments.
• CSCS/ SMSTS card (desirable)
