Digital Project Lead

The Role

  • Sustains and improves SAP S4/HANA within the TopHat business, including critical workflows in production, supply chain, quality, HR, and finance

  • Improves existing tools and develops new SAP applications in support of TopHat business processes and strategic objectives

  • Engages users across the business to deliver expert support and coaching that maximises the value of SAP at TopHat

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with key suppliers (new and existing, including software providers and automation consultants) to design and implement the data solution for automation of TopHat’s new Factory 2.  The data remit begins with output from Revit, and extends to the automation instructions for robotic manufacturing lines, and workflow management throughout the factory, including interfaces with SAP

  • Continuous improvement of our software solutions in factories 1 and 2 including research, development and testing.

  • Management of digital software deployment and provision of technical support.

  • Collaboration with software and solution suppliers.

  • Acting as the design authority on automation hardware, software and integration

  • Analysis of application performance and ownership/development of configuration changes when new product is launched

  • Ownership of a “digital twin” model of Factory 2, providing insight on equipment utilisation, material flows and load balancing to optimise output

  • Participation in technical discussions with other engineering colleagues, designers and CAD Technicians to resolve application and architectural issues, particularly related to middleware issues

  • Maintaining structural BOM and change/update coding to support new designs or factory requirement.  

  • To follow, contribute and promote TopHat Health, Safety, Environmental Quality Systems.

  • Any other duties as deemed necessary to meet the needs of the business.

 

Education and Experience 

Essential

  • HND / HNC / BTec in Engineering or information technology minimum

  • Excellent IT skills

  • Experience developing industrial system software

  • Understanding of factory automation and control systems

  • Robotic system experience

  • Excellent Excel skills

 

Desirable

  • Degree qualified

  • CIAT accreditation

  • Deep programming experience in relevant, modern languages (e.g., Python, C++)

  • A strong attention to detail.

  • Understanding and use of Revit and Inventor design programs.

  • A passion for innovation and new ideas.

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge and understanding of design for manufacturing processes

  • Knowledge and understanding of machine integration

  • Commercial awareness.

  • Sound data driven decision making skills.

  • Ability to self-motivate against demanding targets and tight deadlines.

  • Good interpersonal and team leadership skills.
